Izzy started at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance in September on the Foundation in Acting course. She initially wanted to pursue a career as a performer, but along the way discovered a deeper love.

During her time studying on the Foundation in Acting, Izzy had the opportunity to do some Stage Management for a production of The Cherry Orchard and discovered she not only had a great passion, but also a talent for it.
“My brain just works that way.” - Izzy Cox, 2023
This wasn’t her first time taking on a Stage Management role, as she recalled being Deputy Stage Manager (DSM) for a youth theatre production.
“I remember thinking at the time, ‘ooh this is really fun, I like this’, and then not thinking any more about it and going back to acting!” - Izzy Cox, 2023
But working on The Cherry Orchard helped her to realise she loves stage management more than performing and that this is what she wants to do as a career.
She spoke to the directors of the Stage and Events Management course at Rose Bruford, about her opportunities and then began exploring possibilities for her future on this new career path. Already knowing how much she loves the university (and of course desperate to continue working with In Stitches!), Izzy decided to put all of her eggs into one basket and applied for the Stage and Events Management BA at Rose Bruford.

Happily, she was accepted on to the course, and is elated to announce that she will be returning to Rose Bruford in the Autumn.
Before that though, she has an exciting job prospect over the Summer. Izzy will be working as a Stage Management Trainee with the Guildford Shakespeare Company throughout their Summer season. It will be her first professional foray into the world of Stage Management, so if you find yourself in the South West, why not go support her? We are delighted to announce that, even though Izzy is taking a step back from acting in other capacities, she has chosen to continue performing with In Stitches.
“It’s the bit about acting I love - the not knowing what’s going to happen. And I love the rehearsals, because we’re just getting up and trying things!” - Izzy Cox, 2023
